Biography | Actress Fagun was born in Leicester, England, she moved to London when she was accepted at University College London to study medicine. She then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.As a straight 'A' student' Fagun studied several particularly challenging fields simultaneously. So much so that Fagun's educational experience was chronicled in a special segment for ITV News in the UK. Following this, she was spotted by a director and chosen for the film 'Brick Lane'. Fagun then temporarily put her acting career on hold to study at the prestigious medical school, University College London. Later, Fagun beat thousands of Britain's hopefuls in the BBC's nationwide search 'Bolly Idol' for new acting talent.Fagun went on to take the lead in an independent film project, playing the role of a domestically abused woman. After filming, she wanted to help the victims of this form of abuse and so became the international spokeswoman for SAHARA (South Asian Helpline And Referral Agency), a culturally sensitive organisation that supports women, in Southern California's growing community of South Asians, through personal crises, including domestic violence.Fagun has appeared in numerous commercials across the world including Europe, the Middle East and India for well-known international brands such as 'IBM', 'Vodaphone' and 'L'Oreal'.In addition to her film credits, She has also acted on the stage, performing in several Shakespeare plays.Fagun starred alongside Martin Sheen in 'Bhopal' A prayer for Rain', a true story based on the biggest industrial disaster in human history, which will be theatrically released in 2013. Most recently, Fagun has filmed a Hollywood movie set in India with Donald Sutherland. |
